Mainly for the visitor when on foot, e.g. 70 metres East of NE corner of Church.

This will normally be obtained with a GPS receiver and should be WGS84 datum (also refered to as ellipsoid).

Some examples: All lettering readable; Family name spelling unclear; Parts of memorial damaged.

90=vertical (upright gravestone); 0=face down (gravestone fallen forward); 180=face up (gravestone fallen backwards, or lid of sarcophagus).
