Software for Genealogy and Family History
With over 30 years involvement in family history, we have seen several stages of computing. Over the years we have built several systems to assist our own enquiries and have not been seduced by the recent trend of instant family tree builders available on the internet. Family history takes time and care, mostly the corroborating of small pieces of information until their integrity can be confirmed.
Unfortunately, much family history is never written up and circulated to close relations. The software we have now compiled is aimed at those who are past the first rush of enthusiasm and are committed to publishing their findings; even if only to distribute to a few family members.
Family history is never complete, technology and the release of more archives to the public may assist the process of going back a few more generations, but younger generations are continually being added.
The software applications we produce do not attempt to manage how you pursue you enquiries. They are just tools to help you record and present your findings so that future generations will have family history information in logical formats.
The two application groups listed here, CMIAR and 2G Ancestors, are downloadable from our web sites. You only pay to use them after you have satisfied yourself that they are what you need.
None of our programs link you to any internet sites, so your data is safe on your own computer.
